We at Mist Connections are working to make our site and activities accessible to people with disabilities.

Accessibility adjustments on this site

At Mist Connections, I want this website to be a welcoming and accessible space for everyone.
My goal is to make the content clear, easy to navigate, and compatible with a wide range of devices and assistive technologies.

This site is built using the Wix platform, which provides accessibility tools designed to meet WCAG 2.1 (Level AA) standards where possible.

What's been done ?

  • Used the Accessibility Wizard to find and fix potential accessibility issues

  • Set the language of the site 

  • Set the content order of the site’s pages

  • Defined clear heading structures on all of the site’s pages

  • Added alternative text to images

  • Implemented color combinations that meet the required color contrast

  • Reduced the use of motion on the site

  • Ensured all videos, audio, and files on the site are accessible

  • The site uses clear, readable fonts and contrasting colors.

  • Images include alternative text when relevant.

  • Navigation menus are simple and consistent.

  • Videos and visual media are accompanied by contextual descriptions or captions when available.

Accessibility Arrangements for Activities

​I strive to make all activities as welcoming and accessible as possible.

  • Indoor gatherings: If an event is hosted in my home, I generally use my upstairs reading nook. However, if I am made aware in advance of any physical limitations, I can prepare my ground-floor living room to host the activity instead, avoiding the need to climb stairs.

  • Outdoor events: If a participant notifies me of physical limitations or specific accessibility needs, I will do my best to adapt the planned route to accommodate, such as choosing smoother paths or shorter loops.

  • General approach: While I cannot guarantee full accessibility for every situation, I am committed to listening, preparing, and adjusting wherever reasonably possible so that everyone can enjoy and participate safely.
